Spybot Robotics:
Remote-Controlled LEGO® Creations

Build vehicles and machines containing a LEGO microcomputer which allows you to control it with a remote! You will create and control a high-speed jet, race car, snowmobile with skis, explorer with treads, and a powerbot with spinning gear probes. Work with specialty LEGO pieces such as geartrains, caterpillar treads and hubs, wings and liftarms.

You'll work on a different project each day, building from instructions, and then customizing your creation for high performance! Then, run your robots with a remote in games and challenges.

In the afternoon, students also work on computer activities such as building a working LEGO city with moving trains, planes, and people, and creating talking digital LEGO persons with easy-to-use animation software!

It's a full day of building and creative fun!

Please Note: Students take home a CD containing project building instructions, graphics, and a camp t-shirt. STUDENTS DO NOT TAKE HOME THE LEGO PROJECTS OR PIECES.

game design class ages 7 to 9

If you took a Spybots class with TechKnowHow before, we have 4 new building projects in the class this year - a Wall-e type rover, an upright alien bot, a multi-terrain vehicle with propellers, a walker bot - plus a new design for the racer car. We have also added some new projects for the computer component of the class, to accompany some of the favorite building and animation programs.

In Spybots, students build robots and control them with a remote. In Pro Builders, students "program" robot instructions by pressing buttons on the microcomputer and watch their robots perform the tasks independently. Spybots involves more activity time with missions controlled with the remotes, while Pro Builders tend to involve more building time and a greater variety of constructions. The computer projects are different in each class as well.
